In a nice stroke of NBC corporate synergy, radical-left MSNBC host Rachel Maddow appeared Tuesday night on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno, and when the topic turned to Rush Limbaugh, Maddow insisted that it’s one thing for Rush to oppose Obama’s socialist agenda before it passes, but once it bec...

Not that Jimmy Fallon won’t do well in the 12:37 time slot; he will probably do quite well for a while, as everyone is anxious for something new at that time. No, the beginning of the end is simply the start of a change in the viewing habits of the NBC core audience. (How many people that comprise...

Friday was Episode #2725 of Late Night with Conan O'Brien -- the last one. Late Night with Conan O'Brien will soon be history. Yes, O'Brien is moving on. He'll be replacing Jay Leno as host of the Tonight Show. Although O'Brien is not leaving TV, his move marks the end of an era. I'm really going to miss the show. It's been a regular part of my nightly routine for so long....

He’s not the first in late night tv to have that happen to him (see Letterman, David) but at the end of the day I feel Conan’s Tonight Show will outlive Jay’s talk show in primetime in how much it actually impacts culture. I watched a couple minutes of Leno the other day and the bi...

Way back in October, people were already saying that NBC's 30 Rock had exhausted its "Yes it's a product placement, but it's also a funny storyline!" justification. Oh, how wrong they were. Mmm, McFlurry! This week's episode featured Alec Baldwin and Salma Hayek sexily purring over the greatness of ...

A number of notable talk show hosts made the controversial choice to cross picket lines and not grow out a strike beard during last year's WGA strike, Jay Leno and Ellen DeGeneres among them. Both earned the scorn of the writers they betrayed, but at least Ellen made some gesture of solidarity by fo...
