I've spent a bit of time this morning fiddling with Google Earth. I know this stuff has been around for a while, but this is the first I've checked it out. Absolutely amazing, the folks at Keyhole have done an incredible job.
Looking at this from a business perspective, I wouldn't be surprised if soon Google offers you the ability to buy advertising space in/on Google Earth. Imagine McDonalds paying to have Golden Arches icons placed over all their locations. Or, how about selling billboard space to the highest bidder along high-traffic routes. The real Times Square might be too expensive, how about a virtual one?
It will be interesting to see how hackable Google Earth is; if it's as flexible as Google Maps, then the potential for some really cool stuff is there.
