KCPW Blogger Friday

KCPW posted the MP3 of the segment from Blogger Friday featuring Blogdigger Local.

All in all, I thought it went well. No one seems to be able to correctly pronounce my last name; I have no idea why this is, but it's happened more times than I can count. Listening to it again, I realize I was way too technical, a consistent fault of mine. On the other hand, I'm pretty sure that the host hadn't checked out the site beforehand.

Just to clarify a point that was discussed, I was asked about whether or not Local invades a blogger's privacy by disclosing their location. The answer is of course not. The information Local uses to geo-code a blog is supplied, in all cases, by the user. We do not use information like IP addresses (which are unreliable anyhow) to locate a blog, only information, like the geo position metatags provided by the author of the site.

Thanks to the folks at KCPW. Now I'm just waiting to hear from Letterman's folks. ;)
