On June 1, Local was featured on SearchEngineWatch's SearchDay. Chris Sherman gives a great overview of the service, along with links to how to geo-code your blog so that Local will pick it up. Last Sunday, Local made Leslie Walker's Web Watch column in the Washington Post (exciting for me, since the Post is my home town paper).

So we've covered web and print media, what about the airwaves? We've got that too! This Firday (Jun. 10) I'll be on Blogger Friday, a segment on the Midday Metro show on NPR member station KCPW in Salt Lake City at around 12:50 EST (10:50 Utah time). You can listen in on KCPW's live stream, they also make their segments available online after the show. And yes, I'm just a bit nervous.

And, of course, thanks to everyone for helping spread the word about Local. We've gotten great feedback so far, and are working on implementing the first round of improvements, including simplfying the query language for locations and getting the advanced search page working properly (which, as Robert notes, is live, but still needs a little fine-tuning). As mentioned in the FAQ, we've starting off small and building up; look for the number of sites in Local to increase very soon.
