Well over a year ago, Rene from Boogieplay showed me his multi-engine RSS search tool. At some point Boogieplay disappeared, but recently reappeared in a somewhat different form. Boogieplay is now a tool for searching and viewing video content, and it is very, very cool. Take a look

Besides the fact that this is a quick, easy and straight-forward way to view video content, I like the integration with Blogdigger. Rene is using our Media Search to allow users to search for videos by keyword, get back a list of matching videos, and watch them, all in a single page!

Rene recently emailed me to say he had temporarily shut down the site becuase of copyright/license issues. This is a sticky subject, and the solution is still up in the air. Obviously, all content is inhernetly copyrighted to its creators, but there is still work to be done in associating Creative Commons or other licenses to content. We're beginning to publish this information in our content feeds on a per-post basis, but the applicability to associated content is still complicated. Hopefully, specifications like Media RSS will help resolve some of the surrounding issues.
